It has so much to offer, and you can enjoy the beautiful beaches, explore the hinterland area and find many activities that will be fun for the entire family. It is located at a point where the Great Dividing Range comes to meet the ocean.
Sport is a very popular reason for people to come to Coffs Harbour. There are a number of excellent golf courses in the area and many of them take advantage of their location beside the ocean. There are different layouts that will challenge experienced golfers and provide a fun day for beginners as well.
Nature is also something that the area has to boast. It is very close to Dorrigo National Park, which has a 70 metre long skywalk that will allow you to see the rainforest from the canopy. If that is not high enough for you, you can even take a helicopter ride around the area that is thrilling and will take you quickly to everything you want to see.
There are plenty of things to enjoy in the town itself. One of the major tourist attractions there is called the Big Banana. It is one of the ‘big things’ located in Australia, and it was chosen because of the significance of the banana industry to the Coffs Coast. The Pub With No Beer is another popular local attraction; despite the name, there is beer to be found there and it is also a famous micro-brewery.
Another big plus to visiting here is the number of different places that you can travel to with just a short drive. Only a few minutes away is Emerald Beach, where you can enjoy a meal by the water at one of the many excellent bistros. It is also very close to Woolgoolga, which is a great place to stop and enjoy an authentic curry. Bellingen is only a half hour away by car, and is known for its arts and crafts. There are many shops there where you can pick up a souvenir of your trip. Nambucca Valley is also close by, and has great beaches, parks and wilderness tours as well. The area is also very well known for whale watching, and perhaps the perfect place to do this is the Solitary Islands Marine Park. You can either do this from the shore or rent out a boat that will take you to see these beautiful animals up close.
